After researching and testing many different prototypes with different degrees of ovality, it was found that 115% (from the top center) is the optimum. This reduced the dead spot accordingly and achieved the perfect chain retention and quietness that you know from round chainrings.
Shortening the dead spot at the top and bottom of the power curve allows you to get back into the power phase of your crank rotation more quickly. This is a significant advantage, as virtually all studies on pedaling power indicate that at least 80% of the power comes from the downward movement. This is mainly due to the fact that much larger muscle groups are used for this movement.
When selecting the oval size, it is recommended to stick with the size of the round chainring you are currently using.
