When Castelli designed the short-sleeved Gabba jacket for racing in the rain, it was soon used for fast rides in the fall and spring, when warmth is needed on the torso but classic jackets are simply too warm. Gabba was designed for racing in the rain, Gabba R can now do it even better than ever. However, if you, like most riders, use Gabba more in dry weather, DO.DI.CI. is the jacket for you.
As Gabba was designed for racing in the rain, the focus was more on wet weather protection and less on breathability. If you tend not to ride in the rain, Castelli can increase the breathability and make an even better jacket for dry weather. The secret lies in Castelli's Ristretto technology. Optimized air circulation means that the fabrics are mostly windproof, but still allow a small amount of air through the fabric to wick away more sweat and keep you drier. How much air? DO.DI.CI. is Italian and means "twelve", because compared to the old Gabba, the air permeability of the jacket is 12 times higher. Just as if you were hanging your bib shorts out to dry in a light breeze instead of in a cold, damp room.
The fabric is extremely stretchy, so it offers an unparalleled fit. And what about rain? The fabric can withstand just a few sprinkles from the road, but if it should rain, you can stash an Ultra Rain Cape or Squall Shell Jacket in the center pocket. Available in short sleeve and long sleeve versions.
