With a 180° light angle and up to 35 hours of runtime, the magnetic rear light makes the helmet a reliable companion on multi-day bikepacking tours or in fog, twilight and darkness.

Features of the ABUS Taipan LED helmet:

• Lower edge protection: outer shell made of polycarbonate (PC) covers the lower edge of the helmet and protects against scratches, bumps and signs of wear and tear
• Plait opening: thanks to the recess in the height-adjustable adjustment system, the helmet is also suitable for long hairstyles such as ponytails, buns or plaits
• Glasses holder at the front: defined recess at the front of the helmet to hold glasses in a secure and aerodynamic position while riding
• Acti Cage™: allows larger ventilation openings with high stability thanks to foamed-in structural reinforcement
• Reflective sticker: for better visibility in the dark
• Cooling airflow system: the ventilation openings are connected to each other via internal channels to direct incoming air through the helmet for maximum air circulation and a comfortable head climate
• Rechargeable, magnetic rear light: is attached to the back of the helmet using magnets and ensures greater visibility - can be charged using a USB-C charging cable
• IP44: protection class that certifies protection against solid foreign bodies larger than 1 mm and splash water for electronic products such as lights
• Four different light modes (rear light): Steady, Power, Pulse and Flash selectable - suitable for light conditions and weather conditions
• Running time per mode in h (min.): depending on the weather conditions and type of use, the light can be used for at least 4.3 hours in Power mode and at least 35 hours in Flash mode
• Duration of battery charging time light: the charging time until the rechargeable battery is fully charged is about 1.5 hours
• Zoom™ Spin adjustment system: rotating wheel at the back of the head for individual adjustment of the helmet to the head circumference
• Flow Straps™: aerodynamic straps for low flow resistance, less noise and high wearing comfort
• Floating pad: padding on the inside of the helmet that is clicked into place via several attachment points, making it more flexible and offering better ventilation and greater comfort
• Plug-in fastener: for safe and practical handling, the straps are fitted with a classic buckle (trident connection) for opening and closing
• In-mold process: Production process in which the inner cushioning material made of expanded polystyrene (EPS) is foamed directly into the outer shell made of polycarbonate (PC) - this creates a durable and robust connection
