Alpina Apax MIPS Helmet - sand white matt

Description

Alpina Apax MIPS Helmet - sand white matt

The Apax MIPS is an all-rounder in the off-road sector and is one of the lightest helmets in its category. The Run System Ergo Flex in combination with Hi-EPS and MIPS ensures maximum comfort and safety. The adjustment system impresses with its filigree design and fixes the helmet evenly to the head over a 360 degree range. There is no more individual, smooth and comfortable way to adjust a bike helmet. Another plus for comfort: the removable padding. It always feels comfortable to wear - no matter how hot the terrain gets. The low weight of the Apax MIPS is due to the inmold production, in which the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a firm surface connection, which is responsible for a very stable construction. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by another polycarbonate shell. Thanks to Seamless Connection, it nestles seamlessly against the upper shell. For maximum safety on rough trails, the rear and the temple area are pulled further down. This creates even greater head coverage. In the event of a fall with an angled impact, MIPS is designed to help reduce rotational forces acting on the head. Large ventilation openings enable optimum ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head and the height-adjustable shield guarantees additional protection in the field of vision.

Features of the Alpina Apax MIPS helmet:

  • Optimum protection in off-road terrain thanks to the lowered helmet rear and temple area
  • MIPS is designed to reduce rotational forces in accidents with angled impacts
  • Individually adjustable for maximum comfort thanks to the smooth-running Run System Ergo Flex
  • Height-adjustable visor
  • The integrated fly screen reliably keeps insects out

Technologies

AIRFLOW VENTING

One factor that has a major influence on wearing comfort is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the ventilation openings is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, where it is guided along the head and can flow out again at the rear. The head is therefore always pleasantly air-conditioned.

CERAMIC SHELL

All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process have a robust Ceramic Shell. In this process, a polycarbonate plate is stretched under high heat to the shape of the future helmet and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic Shell is characterized by several qualities: It is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.

EDGE PROTECT

Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate sheet that enhances Inmold helmets. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the durability of the helmet.

ERGOMATIC

Tried and tested hundreds of thousands of times and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-stage automatic latching mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - the strap can be loosened uphill and tightened downhill - and it is not possible for the buckle mechanism to open by itself in the event of a fall.

HI-EPS

The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrol). The material has microscopically small air chambers that absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS ensures optimum protection and at the same time enables extra-thin wall thicknesses and narrow helmet shapes.

INMOLD

In the Inmold production process, the polycarbonate upper shell of the helmet is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under high heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable bond between the upper and lower shells. Advantage: The helmet is very light and extremely stable at the same time.

MIPS

MIPS is a system that protects against brain injuries that can be caused by rotational movements in the event of an impact. The low-friction insert enables a sliding movement of 10-15 mm in all directions and thus reduces the rotational movement in the event of a fall. MIPS therefore offers additional protection.

RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX

The size of all Alpina helmets can be individually adjusted via the Run System using a smooth-running rotary wheel. The Run System Ergo Flex is Alpina's lightest and most comfortable adjustment system. The filigree construction hugs the head evenly and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted using a fine ratchet - there is no more individual, smooth and comfortable way to adjust a helmet.

Y-CLIP

A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixation of the two straps under the ear play a decisive role in this. The Y-clip system guarantees millimeter-precise adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
