You can never completely rule out a flat tire. However, with these tires you are optimally protected against typical puncture hazards such as shards or granulate.

Note: For all Marathon Plus tires, be sure to use a gauge to adjust the air pressure. Due to the particular construction, checking the pressure with your thumb is not sufficient.

The only bicycle tires in the world that can be called Unplattbar® come from Schwalbe. This is made possible by the patented SmartGuard puncture protection belt, which, thanks to its special design, can withstand even shards of glass or thumbtacks. The SmartGuard insert is 5 mm thick and made of highly elastic special rubber. The tires also impress with their excellent rolling resistance, which is far superior to other puncture-proof bicycle tires.
