ax-lightness ULTRA 35CX - One of the lightest carbon wheelsets for gravel and cyclocross.
With the ULTRA 35CX, ax-lightness brings its collective expertise from cycling, automotive, and ski manufacturing into a wheelset that makes no compromises. The flat 35 mm profile with a 30 mm outer width and 24 mm inner rim width delivers a lively, direct riding experience. Ideal for mountain riders, all-rounders, and anyone who demands maximum agility on gravel and cyclocross courses. With a total weight of just 1090 grams (including tubeless rim tape, ±5%), it is one of the lightest disc wheelsets with carbon blade spokes on the market. The maximum system weight of 130 kg attests to its structural stability despite the consistent use of lightweight design.

The ULTRA 35CX features 20 stiff carbon blade spokes per wheel, laced in a double-cross pattern for even load distribution, high lateral and torsional stiffness, and extremely direct power transfer. These spokes are the key difference from the SELECTION series. They provide a noticeably stiffer and more responsive ride feel. This is crucial for explosive accelerations, hard sprints, and technical sections in cyclocross.

The in-house ax-lightness ULTRA CX hubs with ratchet freewheel and ceramic bearings consistently minimize rolling resistance. Compared to steel bearings, ceramic balls measurably reduce friction and ensure a longer service life. An advantage that is particularly noticeable during intense racing. The matte UD finish with black laser-etched decals gives the wheelset the uncompromising look of the ULTRA line.
