Deore M6200/M7200 – Simplicity Without Worry.

Designed for riders who value fast shifting, consistent braking performance and durability—and who, above all, appreciate mechanical simplicity. Visually, the M6200 and M7200 components are inspired by the elegant design of the electronic Deore Di2 series. Also technically the mechanical 12-speed components match the performance of their electronic counterparts, making them a viable upgrade option for all MTB disciplines.

The brake components of the Deore M6200 series benefit from technologies introduced with the XTR and Deore XT models. These include, first and foremost, optimized braking power transmission and predictable modulation that remains consistent even on varying terrain and across different temperatures.

Four Pistons. Full Power. To ensure stable piston retraction, the calipers in the current Deore series feature improved internal gaskets. The use of Shimano’s mineral oil with a revised formula and low viscosity, in turn, ensures smooth flow—a prerequisite for consistent braking feel regardless of temperature. To ensure powerful deceleration in every situation, the BR-M6220 brake caliper uses two pairs of pistons with different diameters, while its two-piece construction increases stiffness.

SERVOWAVE | This braking system manages the friction between the brake pads and the rotor throughout the entire lever travel to achieve an optimized power curve and correspondingly more balanced braking performance. The SERVOWAVE brake lever covers a significant portion of the travel at the beginning of its movement, allowing the brake pads to be brought into contact with the rotor with minimal lever travel. Once the brake pads make contact, the force transmission ratio increases rapidly. The majority of the lever travel is thus still available to increase braking force and modulate it more precisely.
