Tiagra R4000 – Pure Road Riding

Authentic road cycling, enhanced with a wider gear range and more accessible than ever before. That is the 2x11-speed drivetrain system of Shimano’s redesigned Tiagra series. The mechanical shifting components are designed with a focus on practicality and user-friendliness. While the ergonomic and comfortable shift levers form the heart of the groupset, the CS-RS400 cassette provides the foundation for a lightweight road configuration that still offers a sufficiently wide transmission ratio to handle mixed terrain as well as steep climbs.

Shimano Tiagra ST-R4020 brake/shift lever. Confident handling on the road thanks to a refined lever design. The dual-control levers of the Tiagra R4000 series adopt the advanced ergonomics of the renowned 105 models, whose design is based on research into different hand shapes to offer road cyclists greater comfort and control. Precision and safety are ensured by the first-class lever feel, the reliable deceleration power of hydraulic disc brakes and the smooth as well as intuitive shifting performance.

Shimano BR-RS405 brake caliper. The hydraulic disc brake caliper at the level of the Tiagra series is characterized by consistent braking performance in all weather conditions. Despite its slim profile, the Flatmount caliper maintains its braking power even on longer rides thanks to a reliable 2-piston construction.

Shimano Tiagra FC-R4000 crankset. True to Shimano’s tradition, the crank of the Tiagra R4000 series also carries the DNA of the brand’s own high-end components. Specifically developed for road cycling, it embodies this heritage through an ideal balance between low weight and efficiency, without compromising on stiffness.

Shimano Tiagra FD-R4000 front derailleur. Smooth and effortless gear changes characterize the front derailleur of the Tiagra R4000 series. Thanks to the optimized cage design of the Shimano Toggle Link construction, the Down Swing front derailleur ensures natural as well as harmonious on-demand shifting performance that meets the demands of modern road cycling.

Shimano Tiagra RD-R4000 rear derailleur. Thanks to its compact construction, the rear derailleur of the Tiagra R4000 series skillfully combines low weight with reliability. On the technical side, it offers not only smooth and precise shifting characteristics but also a wide gear range. The result is a complete package that delivers an exceptional riding experience on the road.

CS-RS400 cassette. Whether sprinting on flat terrain or tackling steep climbs, with a 327 % gear range, the CS-RS400 cassette from Shimano offers the ideal transmission ratio for any situation. Thanks to proven HyperGlide technology, shifting is fast and precise as well, perfect for performance-oriented road cyclists. The lightweight 11-speed cassette is seamlessly compatible with all Shimano drivetrain systems designed for road bikes, but is particularly well-suited for use with components from the Tiagra R4000 series.
