Reliable. Refined. Robust. The mechanical RD-M8200 rear derailleur is designed primarily for longevity and impact resistance. To achieve this, the rear derailleur from the Deore XT series utilizes Shadow ES technology, which not only provides a wedge-shaped low-profile design but also improves chain tension thanks to a redesigned dual-spring construction, thereby ensuring smoother chain operation and an optimal chain guidance. The combination of wide, reinforced linkages and solid, well-covered derailleur pulleys minimizes the likelihood of dirt intrusion while simultaneously increasing durability.

Thanks to its compact design with a medium-length derailleur cage, the GS version not only offers more ground clearance (23 mm compared to RD-M8200-SGS) but also a lower weight while still providing a wide gear ratio range of 500 %. Designed for HyperGlide+ drivetrain systems to ensure reliable and fast shifting.

Shadow ES | This construction is characterized by a low profile, which reduces the forward-facing surface of the rear derailleur. As a result, the rear derailleur features no protruding edges that could get caught on stones or roots.
