The sock is part of Smartwool’s innovative Second Cut™ project. In this project, old socks are collected, shredded, and turned into new ones. The new yarn consists of sock waste and new merino wool. The unidentified blended fabric is the sock waste. Since a wide variety of socks are combined here, it is not readily possible to determine the exact fiber content, and even if it were, it would not be consistent.
