The comfort of wearing waterproof shoes depends on the fact that they support the feet and are breathable. The structure of the leather, and therefore its supportive capacity, is maintained by tanning agents. As soon as leather absorbs water, the tanning agents are no longer present. This leads to stiffening of the leather. When the leather gets wet, the breathability of the shoes is affected and you get wet feet. Therefore, it is necessary to maintain the durable water repellent (DWR) effect of your shoes. As soon as the DWR effect wears off, renew it with Nikwax Waterproofing Wax for Leather™.

Application

Clean your shoes first with Nikwax Cleaning Gel for Footwear™ to get the best results.

• Shake well before use.
• Carefully apply wax with sponge applicator or fingers to clean, dry or damp leather, remembering seams.
• Remove excess with a cloth and polish.

Caution: May darken leather. Test on inconspicuous area. Waterproofing wax changes nubuck leather to smooth leather.
