Shimano XTR SL-M9100 Rapidfire Plus (Mono) shifters

The goal in developing the Shimano XTR SL-M9100 shifters was to allow the rider to react immediately to sudden changes due to the course or race situation. To this end, the intuitive operation of the XTR 9100 handlebar elements was once again significantly optimized, which can mean the decisive tenths of a second advantage in racing. The special focus that the developers have placed on shifting ultimately benefits the rider in that he can direct his focus away from the operation and fully on the race action. In addition, the developers have implemented shift levers with significantly lower lever forces and travel, so that mountain bikers can operate their system intuitively and seamlessly with minimal finger movements.

A decisive contribution to this is also made by the I-Spec EV construction, which allows Shimano shift levers to be mounted directly on the brake lever, thus eliminating the need for a clamp and significantly increasing the adjustment range. 14 mm is available with I-Spec EV for adjustment in the longitudinal direction and 60° for adjustment in the rotational direction, so that every rider can make an adjustment or setup according to his individual anatomy.

Proven features such as Rapidfire Plus, 2-way, instant and multi-release have of course been carried over by the SL-M9100 shifters from their predecessor. The left Rapidfire Plus Mono shift lever for 2-speed systems is a completely new development, in which only one lever is used to shift to the large as well as the small chainring. To shift up, the lever is pushed forward with the thumb, but does not spring back afterwards as before, but remains locked in this position. To shift down to the small chainring, this lock is simply released by pressing it again with the thumb or by pulling it with the index finger.

Instant release allows for faster shifting. The cable is released immediately when the lever is pressed. You can shift faster than before.

Multi-Release (only on the right lever) allows four gear jumps. Now you can shift multiple gears in either direction with the main lever or the secondary lever.

2-Way-Release allows you to release the cable by pushing it with your thumb or pulling it with your index finger. This way, you do not have to adapt your riding style to the rear derailleur, but the rear derailleur adapts to your riding style.
