SILCA Latex Inner Tube - Valve Extender & SpeedShield - 24/30-622

For many years, latex tubes were only found in tubular tires. These latex tubes are responsible for very high puncture resistance and ride quality. SILCA has now teamed up with Vittoria to develop the highest quality latex tubes with the lowest rolling resistance for common clincher tires.

Features of the latex tube

When mounting with a latex tube, it is recommended to wrap tubeless tape twice around the rim. Tubeless tape simplifies assembly and reduces the risk of puncturing during assembly as well as the tube slipping on the rim.

Compared to "normal" tubes, which are made of butyl rubber, latex is much more elastic and much more difficult to puncture. With latex tubes, you can usually ride 2-5 watts faster at a speed of 48 km/h than with tubes made of other materials. Latex tubes offer extremely high elasticity, which contributes to low rolling resistance of the tire.
