The chainrings feature Shimano Dynamic Chain Engagement technology (except 44 teeth), i.e., specially shaped teeth for single chainrings that optimize the chain guide while pedaling and prevent the chain from jumping off when riding off-road. In combination with the optional SM-CDE80 chain guide, maximum reliability is therefore guaranteed even in the toughest terrain.

Shimano Dynamic Chain Engagement+

Dynamic Chain Engagement+ is a special tooth profile developed for use on single chainring configurations for XC, enduro, and trail riding. It improves the chain guide, enabling smoother pedaling—even on uneven terrain. The chain guide of each individual tooth reduces wear on the entire profile.
