The Magura MT8 SL FM doesn't stop ambitious cross-country racers until they want it to—at the very last moment. With brake rotors up to 180 mm in diameter, the Flatmount version delivers the same powerful performance and low wear as the classic MT8 SL on which it is based.

FLATMOUNT
On Flatmount brakes, the threads are located in the caliper and are secured with M5 screws. The compact design and integrated threads make installation on the chain stay easier. With the same pad and piston sizes as the standard 2-piston MT brake, the Flatmount version is just as robust as the Postmount version.

The Carbotecture SL brake lever, along with the Carbolay® lever and bracket, make the Magura MT8 brake an absolute lightweight for competitive use.

1-FINGER HC CARBOLAY® LEVER
The popular 1-Finger HC brake lever is now also available in a carbon version. The lever is comfortable to grip, and the high-tech material offers the clear advantages of lightness and stiffness.

LIGHTWEIGHT PERFORMANCE
Despite its incredibly light weight, the MT8 offers the highest braking power and stability in the 2-piston family. Lightweight design without compromise.

Technology of the Magura MT8 SL FM carbon disc brake

Carbotecture® SL:
Compared to Magura’s conventional Carbotecture® material—a blend of high-tech polymers and carbon or glass fibers—Carbotecture® SL incorporates medium-length rather than short carbon fibers into the polyamides to further increase durability while reducing weight. Compared to aluminum, the classic lightweight material, Carbotecture® SL offers significant advantages: It is just as resistant to tensile stress and fracture while having a weight that is more than 50% lower.

Weight-to-Performance Ratio:
Magura brakes are characterized by high thermal stability, achieved through optimal weight distribution. Optimal use of materials where they are needed.

magnetiXchange:
Quick and easy to replace—that’s what magnetiXchange brake pads are all about. Magnetic pistons ensure a perfect fit of the brake pad in the caliper and make pad replacement a breeze.

Shift Mix (optional):
With the optional Magura Shift Mix lever clamps, Shimano (Shiftmix 1 + 2 / I-Spec I + II) and SRAM (Shiftmix 3 / X9, X0, XX) triggers can be mounted directly on the brake lever, ensuring a clean and uncluttered cockpit.

Remote Mix (optional):
For an ergonomically optimized cockpit, the Magura Remote Mix lever clamp allows the RCL² remote from Magura suspension forks to be mounted directly on the brake lever. Installation is possible on both sides.

Notes: The brake is delivered fully filled with fluid and bled. The line can be easily cut to the required length. Flatmount adapters and a brake rotor are not included in the scope of delivery; these parts are available as options. Please note the maximum allowable brake rotor diameter for your frame/fork.
