After the mountain bike flagship XTR has already set benchmarks and Deore XT and SLX have followed suit, the Deore M6100 now rounds off Shimano's 12-speed lineup. It is complemented by the components of the M5100 and M4100 series which will equip 11- and 10-speed drivetrains at the same high level.

Regarding the price, the current Shimano Deore groups are positioned in the entry-level range, but are not prepared to compromise in terms of performance, quality and reliability. Almost everything that the high end groups XTR, XT and SLX have to offer in terms of technology, innovation, performance and range of functions, you will find in the Deore components, too.

Shimano Deore SL-M5100-I Rapidfire Plus Mono shifting lever

The Shimano Deore SL-M5100 shift lever is characterized by its simple and smooth-running operation so that the driver can concentrate solely on the trail ahead. Thanks to the compact Rapidfire Plus Mono construction, the 2-speed shifter features intuitive operation using just a single lever to shift both up and down with natural finger positioning. In combination with the proven 2-Way-Release technology cable release is possible by pressing or pulling the lever. The left SL-M5100 shifting lever is compatible to 2x11- as well as 2x10-speed drivetrain systems.

2-Way-Release

2-Way-Release allows cable release by pressing with the thumb or pulling with the index finger. So you don't have to adapt your riding style to the rear derailleur, but the rear derailleur adapts to your riding style.
