DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT 80 Carbon Rear Wheel - 28" | Carbon | QR 130 - Shimano HG-EV / SRAM XDR

DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT 80 Carbon Rear Wheel - 28" | Carbon | QR 130 - Shimano HG-EV / SRAM XDR

Made for high speeds!

The DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT wheels were developed in cooperation with the aerodynamics specialists of SWISS SIDE and are now also available as a rim brake version. The aero wheels support the complete system of rider and wheel with minimum drag and superior stability in different conditions. The rim of the aerodynamically optimized wheel is identical to the ARC 1100 DICUT series. Upgraded with the 240 DICUT Aero hub, the ARC 1400 wheels are well equipped for the race against time.

More details of the DT Swiss ARC 1400 DICUT

By combining new and proven aero components, road cyclists benefit from maximum control in many riding situations and at high speeds. Thanks to the AERO rim, optimal aerodynamics are ensured by lower air resistance, as well as controllable handling due to reduced steering torque. In addition, the rim shape can create a forward pushing sailing effect in crosswinds.

The profiles of the rims have been specially designed for tubeless use. They guarantee a perfect fit and make the installation of the tyre as easy as possible. Nevertheless, it is always possible to use a conventional tyre and tube combination.

The wheels were built with DT aero comp T-Head spokes - the ideal compromise between aerodynamics and strength. In a two-stage manufacturing process, the spokes are first compressed (cold forging process) and then consolidated a second time in the subsequent flat forging process (bladed).

Compared to the previous 240 Aero hub, the silhouette of the hub body has been reduced and thus aerodynamically improved. Furthermore, it convinces with an easy, tool-free maintenance, as well as an excellent durability.

DT Swiss hubs are known for the No-Tool concept. The concept allows for tool-free conversion to all common axle and freewheel body standards. All DT Swiss Ratchet System hubs can be converted.

Ratchet EXP Technology

The Ratchet System EXP hubs are unique in that all the teeth of the two discs mesh simultaneously every time. In the case of ratchet hubs, the meshing area is quite small. In the case of the Ratchet System, however, the entire face surfaces engage with each other, which makes for a much smaller point load. The result is the legendary reliability of Ratchet System hubs.

Compared to the original Ratchet system, the EXP system reduces the overall number of components, utilizing a single spring, resulting in a decrease in weight of the freehub system. Allowing the use of a single cylindrical spring resulting in a faster full engagement and therefore an increase in reliability. The integration of the drive side bearing into the threaded ring increases the bearing distance, resulting in a 15% improvement in hub stiffness.
