New 1:0.8 ratio replaces 2:1 ratio
- A 1:0.8 ratio of maltodextrin to fructose increases the percentage of ingested carbohydrates that are oxidized (known as efficiency) from 62% to 74% compared to a 2:1 ratio.
- A maltodextrin to fructose ratio of 1:0.8 reduces self-reported symptoms of stomach fullness compared to a 2:1 ratio.
Directions
Each gel contains 40 grams of carbohydrates. Depending on your sport or competition, you should consume 1-3+ gels every hour during exercise to reach a target amount of 80-120 grams. Under certain circumstances, such as cold weather, it may be necessary to consume more. Simply tear off the top of the packet and squeeze the contents into your mouth as needed.
