Shimano D-Fly Wireless Unit for Di2 Systems - ANT+ / Bluetooth - Seat Stay Installation - EW-WU101-C

With the introduction of the Shimano SM-EWW01 Wireless Unit (previous version of the EW-WU101), the electronic Di2 circuit has been improved. Since then it is possible to send the Di2 data wirelessly to the bike computer or ANT+ compatible devices. Shimano D-Fly transmits the data using the proprietary ANT protocol. Thus, for example, can also be sent to the Shimano CM-1000 action camera.

Transmitted are data such as gear indicator, battery charge status and other common information. The wireless unit is simply connected to the Shimano E-Tube system.

Shimano EW-WU101 Di2 Wireless Unit

New to the EW-WU101 is Bluetooth technology. It allows riders and mechanics alike to communicate wirelessly with the Di2 system by establishing a connection between the wireless unit and a tablet or smartphone.

This benefits both the mechanic who wants to make extensive adjustments or perform error analyses in the workshop, as well as the mountain biker himself who wants to change certain settings on the spot on the trail via smartphone.

Note: Mandatory requirement is that the new internal battery BT-DN110 or the new holder for the external battery (BM-DN100) is installed.

Wireless communication

Smartphone: Wireless Bluetooth® connection via E-Tube Wireless App; Functions: programmable circuit behavior, firmware update

Tablet: Bluetooth® wireless connection via E-Tube Project Wireless App; functions: programmable circuit behavior, firmware update, troubleshooting, creation of rider profiles.

Alternatively, the connection to the tablet / smartphone can also be established through the wireless unit in the SC-MT800 information display.
