DT Swiss 350 – Less weight, same reliability

Reliable independence. The revised 350 Road hub is a reliable partner for every adventure, whether on asphalt or gravel roads. While a weight reduction of 10 % could be achieved in the Straightpull version compared to the previous model, it is the sophisticated bearing concept and the standard Ratchet SL toothing that ensure the legendary reliability for which DT Swiss is known.

Lighter than ever before. Responsible for the weight savings are the lightweight axle in combination with a milled hub body, which adopts the graphic design of the current 350 MTB hubs. But also the ratchet freewheel system standing for a smooth power transmission benefits the new lightness, the SL stands not for nothing for "Super Light".

Maximum versatility. Another stroke of genius are optimized end caps, whose design not only provides a better grip, but also simplifies disassembly in the spirit of the "No-Tool Concept". The tool-free plug-in solution allows both the conversion in seconds to another installation standard, as well as the uncomplicated exchange of the ratchets to adjust the engagement angle.

Technical details of the DT Swiss 350 rear hub

  • range of use: Road Bike, Gravel
  • spoke mount: Straightpull
  • braking system: Non-Disc (suitable for use with rim brakes)
  • freewheel: DT Swiss Ratchet 36 SL (36 teeth / 10º engagement angle)
  • freewheel body: Shim. RD. 11SP Light (ASL11) / SRAM XDR RD. (AXDR)
  • installation dimension: 10 x 130 mm (quick release)
  • weight: approx. 234 / 225 g (HG-EV / XDR; manufacturer's specification)

Ratchet freewheel system | The special feature of the patented freewheel system is that all teeth of the two installed ratchet pulleys always mesh simultaneously. Compared to pawl freewheel hubs, where the engagement surface is comparatively small, the loads are distributed evenly over a large contact surface by including the entire face surfaces. The result is lower point loading and thus significantly higher reliability.

Hub bearing technology | To achieve the best possible rotating properties with minimum friction, the bearings of DT Swiss hubs are subjected to an initial preload. When installed in the frame or fork, this is counteracted by the clamping force of the wheel mounting system. The calculation of these lateral forces in combination with the correct bearing tension allows the construction of a durable as well as backlash-free hub.
