High Fructose Gel provides 55g of carbohydrates and 250mg of sodium per gel, derived from maltodextrin and fructose in a 10:8 ratio. This "multitransportable carbohydrate" based formula has been shown in studies to be the only way to increase the assimilation and oxidation rate of exogenous carbohydrates to over 60 g/hour during prolonged exercise using carbohydrates that are absorbed in the gut via multiple transporters.

Maltodextrin
- Is absorbed in the intestine by the SLGT-1 transporter and converted into glucose in order to reach the cells and supply them with energy immediately.
- Has a high glycemic index, causes a rapid rise in blood sugar and an immediate release of energy.
- Thanks to its high molecular weight and low osmolarity, it is rapidly emptied from the stomach, promoting digestion and reducing secondary effects in the gastrointestinal tract.
Fructose
- The absorbed fructose is taken up in the intestine with the help of GLUT5 transporters, which are different from those that absorb other carbohydrates. Once absorbed, fructose reaches the liver via GLUT2 transporters, where it replenishes the hepatic glycogen stores, which decrease during intense physical activity.
- Gradual absorption occurs as a result of the steady and progressive release of energy.
For this reason, the combination of maltodextrin and fructose allows optimal digestion and assimilation of carbohydrates per hour, significantly reducing the risk of stomach problems.
Application:
