Q36.5 utilizes the capabilities of Karl Mayer's state-of-the-art seamless knitting machines and has developed a technologically extreme vision of the traditional seamless base layer.
Even riders already familiar with high performance seamless baselayers will be able to immediately notice the new feel introduced with this product. Particularly noteworthy:
Significantly higher elasticity and lower resistance to movement in all directions, as the Karl Mayer machine is able to process multiple tubes without seams (most "sleeveless" baselayers are still technologically forced to be sewn at the armhole, for example). The elimination of all seams (with the exception of two short connecting stitches at the shoulders) naturally also significantly increases the wearing comfort of such a close-fitting garment as a base layer.
A much more durable and less fragile lightweight, because unlike other seamless machines, Karl Mayer machines are able to develop a truly tear-resistant fabric. The fabric of the base layer is not hemmed, so the garment does not need to be sewn: It can be cut and altered as desired without affecting the durability of the product and without the risk of the threads unraveling.
The 'honeycomb' pattern of the knit is used in different densities, along with open mesh sections that map the thermal requirements and regional perspiration rates of an athlete's body. This not only allows for the best rider comfort and protection, but also a significant reduction in product volume where possible.
The result is an amazingly clean and minimal base layer. The weight is 75g (a result of the design, not a target) and is best suited to temperatures above 22°C.
