Best protection for all junior mountain bikers
The APAX Jr. MIPS is inspired by the model for adults. The MTB helmet offers all junior mountain bikers the best possible protection off-road. Mips included. The low weight, Mips, the large head cover, a long list of features and an attractive price make the Apax Jr. MIPS a must-have for all those who like to ride off-road. The low weight is due to the inmold production, in which the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS. This results in a firm surface connection, which is responsible for a very stable construction. The lower edge of the helmet is protected by another polycarbonate shell. The rear and temple area are pulled far down for maximum safety. This creates even greater head coverage. MIPS is designed to help reduce rotational forces acting on the head in the event of a fall with an angled impact. Large ventilation openings ensure optimum ventilation, fly screens keep insects away from the head and the shield guarantees additional protection in the field of vision. With the Run System Classic, which is combined with the height-adjustable Custom Fit, the bike helmet can be adjusted to fit the head. The Apax Jr. MIPS rear light Multi-Fit Light can be retrofitted as an option for improved visibility.
Features of the Alpina Apax JR MIPS children's helmet:
- Optimum protection off-road thanks to the lowered helmet rear and temple area
- MIPS is designed to reduce rotational forces in the event of accidents with angled impacts
- Low weight thanks to inmold production, in which the upper shell is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS
- Particularly robust and durable thanks to protected lower edges
- The integrated fly screen reliably keeps insects out
Technologies
AIRFLOW VENTING
One factor that has a major impact on wearer comfort is the ventilation of the helmet. The strategically sensible arrangement of the ventilation openings is crucial for optimum ventilation of the interior. The air is directed into the interior, where it is guided along the head and can flow out again at the rear. The head is therefore always pleasantly air-conditioned.
CERAMIC SHELL
All Alpina helmets manufactured using the inmold process have a robust Ceramic Shell. In this process, a polycarbonate plate is stretched under high heat to the shape of the future helmet and pressed onto the Hi-EPS body under high pressure and thermally bonded to it. The Ceramic Shell is characterized by several qualities: It is break- and scratch-resistant, UV-stable and antistatic.
EDGE PROTECT
Edge Protect is an additional polycarbonate plate that enhances Inmold helmets. It covers the edges on the underside of the helmet. This protects the Hi-EPS and increases the durability of the helmet.
ERGOMATIC
Tried and tested hundreds of thousands of times and used on all Alpina helmets: the strap buckle with the red push button and multi-stage automatic latching mechanism. Ergomatic can be operated with one hand - the strap can be loosened uphill and tightened downhill - and it is not possible for the buckle mechanism to open by itself in the event of a fall.
HI-EPS
The inner shell of all Alpina helmets is made of Hi-EPS (High Expanded Polystyrol). The material has microscopically small air chambers which absorb the forces acting on the helmet in the event of an impact. Hi-EPS ensures optimum protection and at the same time enables extra-thin wall thicknesses and narrow helmet shapes.
INMOLD
In the Inmold production process, the polycarbonate upper shell of the helmet is thermally bonded to the Hi-EPS inner shell of the helmet body under high heat and pressure. This creates a large and inseparable bond between the upper and lower shells. Advantage: The helmet is very light and extremely stable at the same time.
RUN SYSTEM ERGO FLEX
With the Run System, the size of the helmet can be individually adjusted on all Alpina helmets using a smooth-running rotary wheel. The Run System Ergo Flex is Alpina's lightest and most comfortable adjustment system. The filigree construction hugs the head evenly and thus increases protection. The Run System Ergo Flex can be adjusted via a fine ratchet - there is no more individual, smooth and comfortable way to adjust a helmet.
Y-CLIP
A helmet can only provide the best possible protection if it remains in the optimum position in the event of an impact. The adjustment and fixation of the two straps under the ear play a decisive role in this. The Y-Clip system guarantees millimeter-precise adjustment - in a matter of seconds.
