• Two-way communication - With the easy-to-use Garmin Messenger app on your smartphone, it's easy to exchange text messages with your loved ones via satellite or cellular.
• Seamless connection - The optimized inReach messaging feature uses your smartphone's cellular connection when available. If you lose cellular reception, it automatically switches to the Iridium® satellite network with 100% global coverage.
• Write group messages - Via the Garmin Messenger app, the inReach connection supports sending group messages. This allows you to share your adventures with multiple contacts at the same time and have group chats with friends and family.
• Get help in an emergency with the SOS button - In an emergency, send an interactive SOS message to Garmin ResponseSM, a 24/7 emergency coordination center.
• Share your current location - Share your trip with your loved ones at any time. Share your position via MapShare™ or send them your GPS coordinates in a message.
• A plan that suits you - An active subscription is required to access the global Iridium network and communicate with the inReach Messenger device. You can take out an annual contract or opt for a flexible monthly plan.
• Compact and extremely robust - Only 7.8 x 6.4 cm (3.1-inch x 2.5-inch) in size and 114 g in weight? Don't let that fool you. The inReach Messenger is robust, durable, shockproof and waterproof to IPX7.

• Check-in messages - Check in briefly with contacts - directly via inReach Messenger. Use check-in messages, which are not counted towards the number of SMS messages you have booked, but are included in your active satellite subscription.
