CORE THERMAL TREATMENT

The heat treatment of individual strands of the core gives the rope its dynamic and mechanical properties.

HEAT SHEATH TREATMENT

The final heat treatment of the sheath ensures compact flexibility and pleasant handling properties.

DRY AND PROTECT SHEATH COATING

The twisted fibers of the sheath provide lasting protection and create a barrier against moisture and dirt.

Each Ocún rope has a durable PFKW-free protective coating that forms a barrier against the penetration of water and dirt into the core. The protective treatment of the fibers also reduces their friction and increases the mechanical strength of the entire construction. As a result, the service life of the entire rope is extended. It contains no toxic and non-biodegradable C6 or C8 fluorocarbons.

SUPER TENSION CONTROL

In-depth control of fiber tension during yarn processing guarantees perfectly balanced tension throughout the rope cross-section and prevents the sheath braid from shifting.

Ocún pays particular attention to controlling fiber tension during the yarn processing and braiding process. This technological discipline ensures that Ocún ropes have perfectly balanced tension across the entire rope cross-section - which is why they consistently achieve excellent results when measuring the normative parameters (weight, camber, impact force, no shifting of the sheath braid, etc.).

MIDPOINT MARKING

Every Ocún rope has a colored midpoint marking to simplify the abseiling process.

Each Ocún rope has a color-coded 8 cm section in the middle of its length. The dye used has no harmful effect on the sheath material and does not alter the mechanical properties of the rope. Each new rope is supplied with a felt-tip pen to renew the center marking or to redefine it if the rope is shortened by the user.

FULL DRY AND PROTECT COATING

Environmentally friendly coated core and sheath yarns for comprehensive water and dirt protection.

All sheath and core fibers of the selected ropes are treated with a special HFC-free chemical that protects them from water and dirt. No C6 or C8 hydrofluorocarbons are used in the process, as these are not biodegradable and cause many environmental problems. Thanks to the development of this HFC-free protection, Ocún was one of the few manufacturers to achieve a water absorption rate of less than 5% in the UIAA Water Repellent Test.

DOUBLE END MARKING

The ends of all ropes are marked in different colors to make them easier to distinguish from each other and to wear both rope ends evenly.

Both rope ends have durable multi-layer labels with the prescribed marking (manufacturer, standard, certification, year of manufacture, type, model, diameter and length) and a hidden serial number for traceability of the rope's origin. Both ends have a different color, which simplifies their identification - so the rope ends can be used alternately without any problems and are worn evenly.

UNIQUE NUMBER

Each individual rope has a unique identification number.

The number is independent of rope length and type. Thanks to this number, which is always recorded during the production of the rope, it is possible to accurately trace the manufacturing history of all materials and machines used. If it is necessary to trace the history of a particular rope, this can be done using this unique number. It is indicated on the packaging, in the instructions for use and also on each rope end, including the replacement ends.
