CITEC 8000 CX / 80 Ultra DB - The aerodynamic high-flyer

The 8000 CX Ultra DB wheelset combines state-of-the-art technology for maximum efficiency in racing. The profile impresses with its new, curved rim design with an aerodynamic surface - ideal for maximum speed combined with safe handling, even in strong crosswinds.

The carbon-aluminum composite construction is based on the patented CITEC Concave System rim with double-walled hollow chamber structure and lightweight but stable aramid honeycomb core layer. The unbreakable CITEC Power-Block-System in combination with specially arranged special blade spokes (CITEC-ETS) ensures maximum resilience.

CITEC Concave System

Innovation from tradition

CITEC introduced the first 12-spoke system wheel back in 1994 - a milestone in wheel construction. The development of the revolutionary Power Block system began with the move to the company's own headquarters in Beelitz near Berlin: a patented hub-spoke connection system that has characterized all CITEC system wheels ever since.

This system, patented in the 1990s and still tried and tested today, is not only a trademark, but also the basis for maximum reliability: CITEC offers a 5-year guarantee against spoke breakage - a strong promise of durability and quality.

ETS (Equal Tension System)

For maximum stiffness and optimum power transmission, CITEC has developed the ETS (Equal Tension System) an innovative spoking system in which the rear wheel has twice as many spokes on the high-load sprocket side as on the opposite side.

This targeted asymmetry achieves uniform spoke tension, which not only increases stability, but also enables the use of lighter hub and rim constructions. The result: a stiff, reliable and at the same time weight-optimized wheel - ideal for demanding riders.
