The special feature of Narrow/Wide chainrings is the teeth's changing width; narrow and wide teeth alternate to prevent chain dropping. In addition, Garbaruk chainrings feature an increased tooth height which improves the chain retention while the bike is shivering and jolting. Compared to regular chainrings, the special tooth shape guarantees a tighter contact with chain and softer pedaling.

Apart from this, chamfered edges and wide mud gaps keep the chainring from getting too dirty. The Garbaruk chainrings for Shimano cranks are made of highly durable 7075 aluminium which not only guarantees a long lifetime, but also makes it possible to reduce the overall bicycle weight in a range between 150 and 400 grams (without front derailleur and chain guide).
