Sleek design

A new dynamo model is here: The SON 29 S is so slim and narrow that you’d hardly suspect a dynamo is inside. Thanks to the generator’s optimized design, the standard rated output of 6 volts / 3 watts is achieved even at comparatively lower RPMs. It thus meets StVZO requirements even for 29-inch wheels. This allows intelligent charging electronics to deliver particularly high power.

Straight-pull spoke lacing

The straight spokes lacing technique is optimal for the stiffness-to-load-bearing capacity-to-weight ratio. The rim side is tangentially spoked, while the hub side is radially or tangentially spoked. Three versions are available: 32 equal (16:16) or 24 unequal (16:8), as well as 24 equal (12:12) spoke counts.

Integrated Coaxial Socket

The standard version features an integrated coaxial socket for the SON coaxial plug. The coaxial adapter enables a convenient and secure connection to SON hub dynamos. The coaxial plug allows the headlight cable to be easily plugged in and out when installing or removing the wheel. Self-contacting versions are also available.
