The EX 1700 wheels incorporate the entire DT Swiss aluminium wheel building know-how. The 72T Ratchet hubs combined with welded and super stable 30mm aluminium rims serve as a basis. The profile of the rims is designed to be strong enough to satisfy the best Enduro riders, but still light enough to get you up your favorite trail effortlessly. Featuring Competition Race J-bend spokes, the EX 1700 wheels will withstand even the toughest Enduro use.

5-DEGree Engagement Angle. Following the introduction of Ratchet DEG technology with the DT 240 models, the DT 350 hubs now also feature this quick-engaging freewheel system, but use 72 teeth instead of 90, resulting in a no less crisp engagement angle of 5°. The concept is specifically designed for mountain bikers and promises not only more direct responsiveness on the trail but also faster power transfer and an even more distinctive sound.

Details of the DT Swiss EX 1700

The profiles of the rims have been specially developed for tubeless use. They guarantee a perfect fit and make the installation of the tire as easy as possible. Nevertheless, it is always possible to use a conventional combination of tire and tube.

The DT Pro Lock spoke nipples prevent the spoke-nipple connection from loosening on its own. A patented two-component adhesive is injected into the nipple thread, which enables the construction of extremely durable wheels. As soon as the nipples are screwed in, the adhesive is activated and then hardens completely. Repeated re-centering is possible without any problems, whereby the adhesive strength decreases slightly with each re-centering.

DT Swiss hubs are known for the No-Tool concept. The concept allows the tool-free conversion to all common axle and freewheel body standards. All DT Swiss Ratchet System hubs can be converted.

What makes the Ratchet System hubs superior is the fact that all teeth on each of the ratchets engage simultaneously every time. In the case of pawl hubs, the engagement surface area is rather small. With the Ratchet System, the whole front face engages, creating much smaller point loads. The result is the legendary reliability of the Ratchet System hubs.
