Cannondale Road Bikes

Cannondale, one of America’s largest bike manufacturers, was founded in 1971. Created by Joe Montgomery, the company is still based in Bethel, Connecticut, where it opened its first factory. In fact, the brand owes its name to the nearby Cannondale train station. Considered a pioneer in functional aluminium frames, the company holds several patents for bikes made from the lightweight metal. It sponsors many cycling teams and professionals such as Chrissie Wellington, the three-time Ironman world champion. Cannondale road bikes offer a wide range of potential uses.

The Cannondale Road Bike – Innovative and Modern

Cannondale road bikes have always been famous for their innovative aluminium frames. That’s why the brand uses the confident product name Cannondale Advanced Aluminium Design (the CAAD series). The central feature here is their SAVE technology, which uses a special tube in the frame to greatly reduce vibration. Modern road bikes in the high price category made from advanced carbon are now also available from this manufacturer.

In this way, Cannondale is moving with the times, while simultaneously offering a more affordable alternative with its high-quality aluminium frame road bikes. In addition, there are now many road bike models that can be used just as well away from paved roads. With these hybrids, known as Gravel Bikes, the manufacturer is also at the forefront of the market. Cannondale offers a wide selection of road bikes for women and the Cannondale Road Bike for men.

The Different Cannondale Road Bike Models

The Cannondale CAAD13

The Cannondale CAAD13 is the most modern entry in the CAAD road bikes series, which have been successful for 40 years and have significantly shaped the success of the brand. According to the manufacturer, this model has the best and most advanced aluminium frame that Cannondale has ever built. It is comparatively light and agile and can even compete with many carbon frames.

The Cannondale Synapse

With the Cannondale Synapse, the focus moves to a mix of road bike and comfort – so it is an ideal endurance road bike. In addition, it features SAVE Micro-Suspension-Technology, which offers highly efficient suspension. The Endurance Race Geometry is also designed to ensure a good balance between a streamlined road posture and an upright, more comfortable posture.

Cannondale Topstone – Versatile Gravel Bikes

The Cannondale Topstone is a very new and yet highly successful model that has already earned a good reputation as a gravel bike. It is essentially a road bike that also performs well on gravel roads or easy trails while at the same time offering a little more comfort. The basic model is available in different forms: Cannondale Topstone 1, Cannondale Topstone 2 and Cannondale Topstone 3. These models differ in some details such as braking systems and drives, but all have the same aluminium frame and the same full carbon fork. For lovers of carbon frames, there is also the Cannondale Topstone Carbon. The latest version of the Topstone series – the Cannondale Topstone Sora – is, however, equipped with the tried and tested aluminium frame.

The Cannondale Supersix

The focus of the Cannondale Supersix is entirely on speed. This can be recognised instantly by the shape of the bike. It is optimised for a sporty posture with the saddle high above the handlebars and the typical downward curved road bike handlebar. Furthermore, the frame is made of carbon instead of aluminium that is normally associated with the brand.

The Cannondale Systemsix

This model has been on the market since 2018 and is also optimised for speed. The main focus of the development was on delivering optimal aerodynamics. The result was the Cannondale Systemsix, the brand's first Aero Road Bike – a model that perfectly matches all professional demands.
