Easy maintenance

DT Swiss hubs are known for their no-tool concept. The concept allows tool-free conversion to all common axle and freewheel body standards. All DT Swiss Ratchet System hubs can be converted.

Less weight

With the original Ratchetsystem, two springs were required for correct function because the internal sprocket was not attached to the hub shell. The integration of the toothed disc and threaded ring in the Ratchet hub not only increases the service life, but also reduces the number of components by using a single spring. It also reduces the weight of the freewheel system.

Full engagement

The tight connection between the inner sprocket and the hub shell of the Ratchet hub ensures that the inner sprocket is always aligned at the correct angle. The use of a single cylindrical spring allows for faster, complete engagement, providing greater reliability.

Superior Reliability

Ratchet System hubs are unique in that all the teeth of the two discs engage simultaneously every time. In the case of ratchet hubs, the meshing area is quite small. In the case of the Ratchet, however, the entire face surfaces engage with each other, resulting in a much smaller point load. The result is the legendary reliability of Ratchet hubs.
