Real fast aerodynamics

The Ultra was one of the most difficult aerodynamic challenges for 3T. Starting with massive 55-61mm (650b) tires, the bike was designed with aerodynamics in mind. There's nothing you can do about the tires, they're big. What you can do, however, is to catch and redirect the chaotic airflow coming from the front wheel. That's why the 60mm wide down tube is close to the front wheel, which gets even wider the closer it gets to the bottom bracket. It is 75mm wide at the lower end to completely shield the water bottle.

Thanks to the riding position, aerodynamics, bottom bracket stiffness and low Q-factor, the Ultra really does feel 100% like a road bike. Even when it gets muddy.
