Deore XT – Where Passion Meets Precision.

When it was introduced in the 1980s, the Deore XT series revolutionized mountain biking. And even in its current iteration, it more than lives up to that legacy. What stands out most is the redesigned Di2 system, which is now completely wireless and enables correspondingly fast and reliable shifting. This is not the only way it builds on the newly introduced XTR M9200 series. With its equally robust drivetrain construction and sophisticated braking system, the Deore XT M8200 is a groupset that not only effortlessly withstands real-world riding conditions but redefines what is possible on two wheels.

Predictable Power From The First Pull. Shimano Deore XT disc brake set consisting of the BL-M820 lever and the hydraulic BR-M8220 brake caliper. SERVOWAVE technology, which manages friction between the brake pads and the rotor throughout the entire braking stroke, offers an optimized performance curve and correspondingly more balanced braking behavior. In addition, the entire braking system benefits from the mineral oil introduced with the XTR M9200 series, which has a lower viscosity than the previous version to maintain consistent braking performance across a wider temperature range. Smooth and easy maintenance is ensured by the Easy Hose Joint System, which makes replacing the brake line significantly easier.

The Deore XT brake levers of the M8200 series are not only characterized by powerful and reliable braking performance, but also impress with ergonomics perfectly tailored to the hand. This is primarily due to the ERGO FLOW concept, which features a brake lever blade that curves slightly upward and an optimized, narrower pivot point that follows the natural curve of the finger. The result combines powerful braking with a smooth lever feel for precise modulation and ultimate control. While the aluminum lever blade is designed for long-lasting durability, the redesigned adjustment wheel makes it easier to adjust the reach (Reach). The I-Spec EV mount not only ensures easy connection to the shift lever but also contributes to a cleaner cockpit.

The BR-M8220 brake caliper from the current Deore XT series was developed for maximum performance, consistency, and control. Accordingly, the Postmount caliper features a 4-piston design with dual piston diameters and optimized gaskets for a reliable bite and consistent braking performance across all terrain and weather conditions. Equipped in this way, the two-piece caliper body achieves a performance curve suitable for Downhill, which is up to the demanding challenges of Enduro races as well as all-day Trail tours. The importance of details is demonstrated, among other things, by the redesigned, oval brake pad mount, which, in combination with the perfectly matched brake pad options, eliminates unnecessary noise.

J-Kit (Easy Hose Joint System) | For brake systems with a J-Kit brake hose connection, the brake lever features an integrated compression seal (olive), which significantly simplifies the installation and removal of the brake hose.
