The Spark RC SL combines state-of-the-art carbon technology with an exceptionally high degree of integration and a precisely tuned overall architecture. The goal of the development was to create a cross bike that sets new standards in terms of speed, both on the climbs and on the descents. To achieve this, the travel of the suspension was optimized, the geometry was specifically refined, and the expertise of top athletes was consistently integrated into the design. The result is an extremely high-performance bicycle that combines efficiency on the climbs with maximum control and speed on demanding trails.
A key requirement for a suspension system is direct power transfer. Inefficient movements, particularly lateral forces perpendicular to the direction of damping, compromise the system’s efficiency.
Integrating the rear shock into the frame reduces these effects. The design around the rear shock and the use of a trunnion mount increase stiffness and minimize unwanted movement. Additionally, a larger bearing at the seat tube pivot allows for a reinforced frame structure and thus even more efficient power transfer.
The integrated design also allows the rear shock to be positioned deeper within the frame. This lowers the center of gravity, improves handling, and enhances riding stability. At the same time, the rear shock remains fully protected from external influences, ensuring performance is maintained even under adverse conditions.
The Spark RC is equipped with the innovative
The rear shock is conveniently accessed via a service flap in the bottom bracket area. This allows rebound, compression, and air pressure to be adjusted quickly and easily. At the same time, it significantly simplifies the installation or replacement of the cable for the TwinLoc suspension system. The result is a particularly maintenance-friendly solution that enables precise adjustments and saves time.
The Spark is equipped with the redesigned Fraser iC Combo from Syncros. Among other things, this was developed to elegantly solve the complex integration of the cables. The cockpit is designed so that the cables run under the handlebars and along the side of the stem before being routed invisibly through the headset via integrated plastic components. The result is a clean, minimalist appearance while preventing kinks or bends in the cables.
The Spark allows for a 0.6° adjustment of the steering angle—either flatter or steeper. This adjustment requires neither shortening cables nor bleeding the brakes. To make the change, simply remove the handlebars, rotate the headset 180°, and then reinstall the handlebars.
The proven tool on the rear axle has been further improved and has been a standard feature of the bike for years. It combines multiple functions into a compact all-in-one tool with T25, T30, and 6mm Allen wrenches. With these three tool sizes, the axles and nearly all relevant screw connections on the bike can be adjusted or tightened quickly and easily—handy for on the go and in everyday use.
