The Campagnolo Super Record EPS is the flagship of Campagnolo® shifting systems thanks to the technologies, materials, and craftsmanship used to manufacture the groupset. Furthermore, it now solidifies its role as the benchmark with the transition to the 12-speed system.
Campagnolo has paved the way with 8-, 9-, 10-, 11-, and most recently 12-speed shifting and has always been a pioneer in the development of drivetrain systems for road bikes. The recent introduction of the mechanical Super Record and Record drivetrains marked not only a new era in mechanical groupset technology but also laid the foundation for the electronic version of the Super Record EPS 12-speed groupset. The EPS technology was tested by athletes in real-world conditions, and before it hit the market, it passed the Campy Tech Lab’s testing phase—as always—in the world’s most demanding testing scenario: the World Tour.
The popular groupset is now available in a 12-speed version featuring the V4 versions of the electronic components and interface. The groupset has been redesigned to perfectly adapt to the new 12-speed technology and the 11-29 and 11-32 cassette combinations introduced in the mechanical version. Fast, consistently precise, and effortless shifting for the cyclist, combined with a very gradual gear ratio, are just some of the outstanding features of the new EPS groupset.

Campagnolo EPS, Electronic Power Shift, is a highly advanced electronic shifting system that, thanks to artificial intelligence (DTI, Digital Tech Intelligence), is capable of converting the cyclist’s shift levers into digital signals, processing them, and controlling the movement of the front derailleur and rear derailleur. The EPS system features electronics that are centralized rather than located within the individual components. This digital intelligence, consisting of a Power Unit and an Interface, communicates with the components, from which it constantly receives feedback and controls them. Centralized electronics mean greater system stability and reduced susceptibility to malfunctions and disruptions caused by crashes. Should malfunctions occur in this high-tech system, the EPS system is capable of automatically detecting them. The On-Board Diagnostic system uses RGB LEDs to indicate, via color-coded signals, where a malfunction is present.
With the Power L model, the Super Record carbon crank—designed for maximum performance—meets Stages’ high-resolution Gen 3 power meter technology. A strain gauge developed specifically for Campagnolo crankarms measures the cyclist’s wattage with maximum accuracy. Thanks to optimized signal strength, the pre-mounted sensor also ensures seamless data transmission via Bluetooth and ANT+ and integrates seamlessly into the elegant design of the 2x12-speed crankset with a minimal weight increase of just 15 grams.
Maximum innovation for ultimate stiffness and shifting precision
The Campagnolo Super Record 2x12-speed carbon crankset, whose weight has been reduced using "Hollow Technology," utilizes the Ultra Torque locking system with a titanium spindle for loss-free power transfer. The crank can be mounted on all frames, both with disc brakes and rim brakes, as it optimizes the chainline on frames with rear installation widths of 130, 135, or 142 mm without compromising the Q-factor.
The use of CULT ceramic ball bearings ensures the smoothness typical of Campagnolo. The innovative shape of the outer chainring and the contoured pin guarantee fast and quiet shifting. Additionally, the symmetrical tooth profile on the inner chainring improves stability during chain crossing.
Weight has been reduced through the increased use of carbon fiber on the crankarms with a dual standard bolt pattern (112 and 145 mm). The chainrings are secured with eight screws, which increase the component’s stiffness.
The different number of pins for each of the three configurations (50/34, 52/36, and 53/39 teeth) optimizes their engagement and thus makes shifting up easier. Furthermore, the relief on the outer chainrings simplifies shifting down in the dead zones of the pedaling motion, thereby improving performance.
Like the front derailleur, the rear derailleur also incorporates many developments made for its mechanical 12-speed predecessor. The same 45° angle of movement corresponds to a new shift pattern that electronically optimizes chain wrap, which is specific to each individual pinion. Improved power transfer and reduced wear on the drivetrain’s moving parts are just two of the benefits of the new rear derailleur’s positioning relative to the cassette. Compatible with both the 11-29 and 11-32 cassettes, the two pulleys feature a 12-tooth design, and the 72.5 mm cage ensures perfect functionality. The slimmer and stronger structure of the cage leaves more space between the rear derailleur and the spokes, making adjustment easier. Guiding the chain onto the 12 pinions of the cassette is a task that requires greater precision, considering that the number of chainrings increases at the same intervals.
The brake lever, redesigned with the 12-speed configuration, features a shape derived from detailed studies by the Campy Tech Lab and, together with the lever’s downshift positioning, provides cyclists with an intuitive, practical, and comfortable “control center.” The new Ergopower brake-shift lever offers multiple adjustment options to better adapt to different hand sizes.
Multishifting technology—the ability to shift multiple pinions with a single operation—is also available for the 12-speed cassette: You can customize the Super Record EPS groupset using the MyCampy app. Ultimately, the Ergopower brake-shifter lever is designed to give the athlete full control over the drivetrain’s functions, and the MODE button—located immediately behind the shift lever used to shift the rear derailleur on both the right and left levers—is the tool for this purpose. By simply interacting with the MODE button, the cyclist can check the battery charge level, make precise adjustments to the rear derailleur or front derailleur (even while cycling), and check all types of diagnostics.
The in-depth study conducted by Campagnolo designers to develop the new shape of the mechanical 12-speed front derailleur is also applied to the electronic version, which guarantees smooth, efficient, and reliable derailleur movement. Thanks to the internal aluminum chain guide and the external carbon fiber chain guide, the Super Record EPS front derailleur performs its functions with maximum stiffness and efficiency.
The Campagnolo Super Record 12-speed cassettes feature narrower pinions, a smaller footprint, and unchanged dimensions compared to the 11-speed pinion sets, allowing all needs to be met with just two pinion sets (11-29 and 11-32 teeth). The 12th pinion enables linear upshifts or downshifts, with only one tooth skipped up to the seventh position, allowing the cyclist to find the optimal gear in any condition.
Furthermore, the side-by-side pinions ensure even faster, quieter, and more precise shifting, thanks to the special tooth shape and surface treatment, which also extends the service life.
The Campagnolo Super Record chain has been redesigned to ensure compatibility with the other 12-speed components of the drivetrain. However, the primary and fundamental goal was to reduce its dimensions. Thanks in part to the new bolts, which sit perfectly flush with the outer surfaces of the links, the width is just 5.15 mm.
Furthermore, the focus was on improving performance through the Ultra Link system, which enhances the chain’s safety and lifespan; thanks to a special treatment, it operates more smoothly and significantly increases shifting precision.
Maximum performance, steep descents, and high speeds can only be achieved and managed under absolutely safe conditions—that is, when you can rely on strong, controllable braking power.
The Campagnolo Super Record Dual Pivot brake calipers ensure very short stopping distances and, thanks to the lever system developed specifically for the Super Record and Campagnolo’s many years of experience in formulating brake pads, always guarantee perfect braking power control.
Campagnolo developed the Dual Pivot pivot system to offer Super Record users maximum braking power. The titanium screws also ensure a very low weight and an extremely attractive appearance.
