ACROS AH-49 Headset Lower Part 1.5 Inch - EC49/40

To accommodate the growing variety of headset sizes and ensure the greatest possible compatibility with forks, bicycles, and frames, ACROS headset upper and lower cups are also available separately in a wide range of options.

The ACROS AH-49 headset lower part features ACROS’s new, high-quality bearing and seal technology in stainless steel for the 1.5" headset.

Precision-machined stainless steel angular contact ball bearings, optimally tailored to the requirements, form the core of the AH-49 and ensure long-lasting, play-free, smooth operation. In addition to the highest quality standards for the bearings, the right sealing technology is another crucial factor in the design of high-quality components.

VULCANIZED SEALING
New for 2017 is a gasket vulcanized onto the centering ring and the bottom of the headset. As the primary gasket—positioned even before the ball bearings’ seal washers—it now provides additional protection against water and dirt.

V-LIP
In addition to the new/additional vulcanized gasket on the centering ring and headset bottom cup, the bearing seal washers now feature a two-part sealing lip (V-LIP). For optimal protection, this lip makes contact at two positions on both the inner and outer bearing rings. In addition, the V-LIP is recessed into a finely polished groove, which significantly enhances the sealing effect even further.

The designation ACROS AH-49 refers to the 1.5-inch Ahead headset with external bearing cups; only the lower part is offered here, and the designation according to S.H.I.S. (see attachment) is EC49/40
