The Maxxis Dissector is a tire that rolls insanely fast, mills precisely through corners and decelerates accordingly well when needed. As a starting point, the profile of the Maxxis Rekon, Minion DHF and HighRoller II was combined and designed in close collaboration with Troy during the 2018 World Cup season.
The most popular compound from Maxxis, that many downhill athletes are trust in is called 3C MaxxGrip. 3C MaxxGrip offers the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.
Doubledown tires are built like Maxxis downhill tires: two carcass plies reinforced with a butyl insert in the sidewall. Due to two 120 TPI (instead of 60TPI) carcass plies and aramid bead, however, they are significantly lighter than the Maxxis downhill tires, much more stable and robust than the Maxxis TR + EXO tires and thus ideal for hard enduro courses.
Tubeless tires have many advantages: You can ride with less air pressure. This gives you better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube, the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other "Tubeless Ready" tires. The bead of the TR tires is completely covered with a rubber layer, just like a real UST tubeless tire. This means that tubeless mounting on all rims with standard dimensions is already successful with the first inflation and with little liquid.
These tires are optimized for an inner rim width of 35 mm, but work excellent on all rims with an inner dimension of 30-39 mm.
