UF Knit44 ECO
The Gridskin Bib Shorts are another example of Q36.5's continuing focus on a more ecosustainable approach since they are made from recycled material. They have revamped the UF Knit44 fabric in order to have it made from fully recycled material. Most recycled fabrics use only a recycled yarn for polyamide and stick with a virgin yarn for elastane. In the new development of the UF Knit44 ECO Q36.5 have chosen only recycled yarns.

Minimal ergonomic design
These bib shorts are also distinguished by the updated pre-shape cut that Q36.5 have employed to provide the most ergonomic fit to enhance not only performance but comfort. Thanks to the detailed research into body mapping with a focus on reducing the number of seams, they have been able to place the panels in ways that support the muscles during the pedal stroke. Improving the fit and feel of the bibs, Q36.5 have introduced a laser cut finish on the waist area, further reducing the need for problematic seams.

The raw cut of the leg cuffs adds to the level of comfort thanks to the clever finishing that eschews the use of silicone while still ensuring the leg band stays in place. The method eliminates hot spots and pressure points, but will help you retain a nice sharp tan line. The lumbar support panel made from high density stretch woven fabric augmented with silver thread actively improves stability and body alignment during the pedal stroke. The straps have also been given some love to make them lighter and more breathable while still offering proper support. For the saddle and the chamois interface, Q36.5 is using a new proprietary pattern to improve the saddle/chamois intersection. The innovative pattern eliminates the central seam which typically causes pressure and discomfort while on the saddle. The new pattern replicates the contact surface of the saddle and is made with a molded fabric that adapts naturally to the different typology of saddles. To increase comfort in the pelvic zone, an anti-stress cut allows more freedom of movement and no pressure points.

SuperMoulded-Anatomic chamois
The chamois uses a new threedimensional SuperMoulded-Anatomic construction that better follows the anatomy of the human body and offers augmented comfort during the ride. The foam padding has been calibrated according to the scheme of variable densities and thicknesses in the perineal, ischiatic, genital and gluteal zones resulting in an extremely sophisticated tuning of its overall comfort. The chamois uses a unique molding technique that produces smooth variations in the thickness of the padding, markedly improving the contact with the rider’s skin.

Protective 4D printing
The newly developed 4D printing technology GRDXKN® enables to print a protective structure into the fabric of the material. This printing technology turns common fabrics into smart textiles. In fact, the material properties of the GRDXKN matrix have been successfully tested in crash simulations up to 100 km/h.

• Abrasion resistancy: The abrasion resistance is more than 5 times higher than that of the untreated textile.
• Impact force dissipation: The fabric reinforced by GRDXKN® creates a highly abrasion-resistant cushioning layer, which greatly delays the destruction of the upper fabric, distributes the force exerted by the fall and absorbs energy, thereby significantly protecting the skin behind it.
• High standards: All components of the GRDXKN material comply with the ÖKOTEX100®, GOTS®, BlueDesign® standards.
• Cushioning properties: Despite the low weight (10gr), an impact test showed that the cushioning properties were improved by more than 50% compared to an untreated textile.
