Maxxis Aspen Folding Tire - TeamSpec | MaxxSpeed | EXO ONE70 TR - 29x2.25"

As tenths of a second can often make the difference between winning and losing in professional racing, everything is placed on one card when it comes to material – pure performance is what counts. The corresponding equipment is usually not available for amateur sports. In everyday MTB life it is much more important to find the best balance between reliable riding characteristics, quality, durability and price. To remedy this situation, Maxxis is now launching the Aspen and Aspen ST models in a limited TeamSpec edition.

Aspen – Ready To Race

The lightweight Aspen folding tire from Maxxis not only has numerous World Cup victories to its name, it can even claim a triumph at the Olympic Games. While the large volume guarantees excellent rolling characteristics, the aggressive side lugs arranged in pairs provide the necessary grip in corners. In order to generate optimum grip both when braking and accelerating, the straightforward tread pattern in the center of the fast Cross Country tire consists of arrow-shaped sipes alternating with block-shaped lugs.

The TeamSpec version uses the same tread pattern as the conventional Aspen tire, but combines it with the fast and supple ONE70 carcass (170 tpi).*

MaxxSpeed | The successor to the legendary 3C MaxxSpeed triple rubber compound is a high silica single compound that is ideal for XC racing. A 25 % reduction in rolling resistance and more grip, even in wet conditions, enable tires equipped with MaxxSpeed technology to achieve higher speeds and correspondingly faster lap times.

EXO Protection | This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB and Gravel models. It is very densely woven, but nevertheless extremely light and flexible to ensure that the tires continue to perform well and convincingly.

ONE70 Technology | This densely woven carcass has its origins in the highest quality road bike tires from Maxxis. On MTB's, the extremely fine carcass weave of 170 threads per inch not only reduces the overall weight of the tire, but also improves the rolling characteristics, as impacting obstacles are better reshaped and therefore not absorbed as speed-reducing shocks.

Tubeless Ready (TR) | Tires without tube have many advantages. Riding with less air pressure improves traction and rolling resistance is also lower than with inner tubes. In addition, the risk of punctures is significantly reduced by using a sealant instead of an inner tube, as small holes are immediately sealed again.

* It should be noted that the tires with 170 tpi carcass are primarily intended for racing use under suitable conditions. The weight savings and low rolling resistance of the Aspen TeamSpec ONE70 models are at the expense of long-term durability compared to the models with the standard carcass.

Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
