The Formula MOD DH steel spring shock was developed to always give you the best performance on the steepest and most difficult descents. The MOD DH has the same shape as the Enduro version, but offers even greater performance in terms of sensitivity, feel, reliability, performance and tuning options. The downhill version is mainly designed for metric sizes of DH frames and geometrically designed so that there are no losses. This allows the maximum travel of the shock to be utilized. CTS allows every rider to easily and effectively fine-tune their setup. The high flow design of the damping ensures uncompromising reliability. Thanks to the large volume, the mod has very low friction and excellent response even on small bumps.
Inside the "piggyback" chamber, the MOD DH has a closed cartridge with a high volume (bladder). The purpose of this design is to drastically reduce friction compared to a conventional Internal Floating Piston (IFP) system. This minimizes friction and inertia in the system and achieves excellent sensitivity to small irregularities.
The MOD DH shock was developed with the High Flow concept in mind. The 30 mm inner piston and the enlarged oil channels give the shock unique characteristics. The compression and rebound settings remain unchanged even on long descents. All this leads to improved sensitivity, less friction and excellent heat management. The high flow design of the damping allows the MOD DH to deliver remarkably consistent performance.
The MOD DH is Formula's first shock with CTS (Compression Tuning System) technology. Formula wanted to have the trademark of its forks on its first in-house MTB damper. Thanks to CTS technology, every rider is able to tune their rear suspension quickly and easily - instant fine-tuning for everyone!
