The Woolpower Balaclava LITE is ideal if you want to be active on cold days. Whether you're skiing or out for a brisk walk, the Balaclava offers optimum protection in cold weather. It is made from a blend of merino wool and synthetic fibers, which makes it antibacterial and quick-drying. The flat seams prevent chafing, so you can wear it well under a helmet. As the balaclava has an opening, it can be shaped to completely cover the head except for the eyes. The lower part of the opening can be worn either over the nose or over the chin, depending on the weather conditions and your personal preference.

Merino wool has the advantage that unpleasant odors cannot build up. It is therefore not necessary to wash the clothing, not even the first time you wear it. Woolpower even recommends simply airing the clothing. If you still want to wash the clothing, you can do so with special wool detergent. You can even wash the clothes at 60℃. This is because the wool is first treated in the 'superwash', which causes it to pre-shrink.

Merino wool comes from merino sheep and is widely known for its high quality. Merino sheep have much more hair than other sheep. There are about 10 times as many hairs per square meter as the average sheep. As a result, the wool is thinner and longer, feels very soft and does not itch. Merino sheep live in areas with large temperature fluctuations from -20 ºC to over 35 ºC. Their fur acts as a heat regulator. Merino wool therefore keeps you warm in the cold, but is still breathable. In addition, merino wool has excellent moisture management and self-cleaning properties, so you won't easily suffer from sweat stains and odors on your clothes.

Polyamide, also known as nylon, is a synthetic material made from petroleum. Polyamide is a strong fabric that does not tear or crease easily. It is light, elastic, easy to fold and dries quickly. One disadvantage of polyamide is that it does not absorb moisture well.
