Petzl Glacier Ice Axe - light blue

The lightweight GLACIER ice axe accompanies you on your glacier tours. The curved head fits perfectly in the hollow of the hand and provides an excellent grip when used as a walking stick pickaxe. The stainless steel spike and the narrow tapered pick at the front ensure very good anchoring in hard snow and ice. The GLACIER is available in four lengths: 50, 60, 68 and 75 cm.

Features of the Petzl Glacier ice axe

Low weight:

• Pick and spike are provided with openings to reduce the weight of the pick and to hook in a carabiner.
• Only 320 g for the 50 cm model.

Comfortable handling:

• The upper part of the pick is shaped to provide a comfortable support surface when used as a walking stick pick: It fits perfectly in the hollow of the hand and provides a very good grip.
• The notched grip surface on the shaft ensures a good grip when used as a traction pick.

Very good anchoring:

• The steel pick tapers to a narrow 3 mm at the tip and ensures very good anchoring.
• The stainless steel spike enables good penetration into hard snow and ice.
• The heavy-duty shovel enables efficient cutting of steps.
