Along the Santa Cruz coast, there's an inland turn on Highway One that sends shivers down the spine of riders: the transition to Bonny Doon Road on the ocean side.
Named after one of the most famous roads in all of Santa Cruz, the Doon crank is a perfect fit as a road bike crank for pros.
The Praxis Works Doon is a super-lightweight Pro Level carbon crank. It combines the ultimate combination of lightness, stiffness and versatility. The Direct Mount chainring mount enables a flexible range of use and numerous chainring combinations. With the M30-Thru aluminum shaft with a full 30mm diameter, the crank converts every pedal stroke into propulsion. The bearing play can be adjusted using the preload ring. Matching M30-Thru bottom brackets from Praxis Works allow the crank to be used in almost any frame: BSA, BB86, BB386Evo, BB30, PF30, T47 and even BBRight bottom brackets are available.
Praxis Works 2x chainrings with LevaTime II are simply in a class of their own when it comes to shifting precision and speed.
This technology has been continuously developed over the years through intensive testing and constant optimization. The complex arrangement of climbing aids, cut-outs, ramps and tooth shapes is precisely calculated from the small chainring to the large chainring and is by no means a coincidence. This allows the chain to change position with absolute control and efficiency. LevaTime II takes shifting behavior to a new level - try it out and you'll see how different Praxis Works chainrings are.
Technologies:
X-Ring geometry
The enlarged bolt circle diameter minimizes torsion within the chainring and further improves the shifting precision and efficiency of the drivetrain.
Cold Forging
All Praxis Works chainrings are manufactured using a proprietary cold forging process that allows the tooth profile to be shaped more than ever before. This so-called "one-shot" process enables the company to increase the amount of shifting aids on the chainring, which is virtually impossible with normal CNC manufacturing.
The process with over 1000 tons of pressure creates an extremely hard and tough surface for maximum durability. Individual tooth profiles, alternating tooth angles, synchronized lanes and tactically placed shifting ramps are the features that ensure smooth shifting. All this creates one of the most durable and smoothest chainrings ever produced for cyclists.
