Rambler – A True Gravel All-Rounder
With the Rambler, Maxxis has a real all-rounder for gravel use in its range. While the large volume offers noticeably more comfort, the closely arranged, angled center lugs ensure excellent rolling characteristics, especially on hard surfaces. Regardless of the ground conditions, the more exposed positioned side lugs ensure controlled and predictable handling in corners.
In its second generation, the Rambler features the especially for gravel use developed HYPR-X compound which combines experiences from the road bike and MTB segments and impresses with less rolling resistance and more cornering traction. In addition, the tires from the Maxxis gravel lineup are equipped with a more resistant 120 tpi carcass, which significantly improves puncture protection in the tread area. The makeover is rounded off with a subtle, grey hotpatch design ensuring an even more modern look.
Features of the Maxxis Rambler folding tire (gen. 2)
- off-road-compatible profile with closely positioned center lugs and free-standing side lugs
- HYPR-X rubber compound, EXO sidewall protection
- bead core made of aramid, Tubeless Ready (TR)
- suitable for E-Bike (E25)
HYPR-X Compound | The result of years of development work combines the best properties of the road bike-specific HYPR rubber compound with the MaxxSpeed compound from the MTB sector. In terms of numbers, this means 25 % less rolling resistance and 19 % more cornering traction compared to the previous Dual Compound mixture.
EXO Protection | This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB and Gravel models. It is very densely woven, but nevertheless extremely light and flexible to ensure that the tires continue to perform well and convincingly.
Tubeless Ready (TR) | Tubeless tires have many advantages. Riding with less air pressure improves traction and rolling resistance is also lower than with inner tubes. In addition, the risk of punctures is significantly reduced by using a sealant instead of an inner tube, as small holes are immediately sealed again.
Aramid Bead | Bead cores made from aramid fibers are just as safe as those made from metal wire, but weigh around 50 grams less. The material also allows the tire to be folded, making transport easier.
Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
