The sock is part of Smartwool's innovative Second Cut™ project. In this project, old socks are collected, shredded and turned into new ones. The new yarn is made from sock waste, canister waste and new merino wool. The unknown mixed fabric is the sock waste. As a wide variety of socks come together here, it is not easy to determine the exact proportion of each fiber, nor would it be constant.
