Chris King InSet i8 Grip Lock Mixed Tapered Headset - ZS44/28.6 | EC44/33 - matte jade

Chris King developed the InSet 8 headset to accommodate the tapered 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" steerer tubes present in todays road and cyclocross bikes. A traditional 1-1/8" steerer tube will be accomodate by use of an optionally available Devolution 1-1/4" to 1-1/8" baseplate.

The InSet 8 presents a well-designed aesthetic fit by streamlining the 44mm headtube and headset cup interface without compromising Chris King's industry leading function and durability.

Aluminum cups in many different colors house the legendary bearings; all made in-house in Chris Kings's Portland, Oregon facility. Like a semi-integrated headset it has a low-stack press-in upper cup, which houses the bearings within the headtube allowing for an overall lower ride height.

Additionally the InSet i8 features a GripLock cap. GripLock is a multi-piece bearing cap that utilizes a split ring that improves steerer tube interface.
