The idmatch Smart Caliper, a kind of sophisticated pelvic gauge with an integrated algorithm, records your relevant anthropometric data. This includes the distance between the joint heads of the thighs (known as the intertrochanteric distance), the diameter of the thighs and the inclination and rotation of the pelvis. The software determines the optimum saddle for your desired use.

• 1. measurement of the intertrochanteric distance: Selle Italia defines the intertrochanteric distance as the measured distance between the joint heads of the two thigh bones (femur). This distance is decisive for the analysis of the pelvis. idmatch uses the Smart Caliper for this purpose.
• 2. measurement of the femur diameter: the relationship between the femur diameter and the intertrochanteric distance determines the saddle shape that is most favorable for the rider.
• 3. measurement of pelvic rotation: By placing the measurement markers on the underside of the caliper on the upper iliac spines (spina illiaca), the inclination of the pelvis can be determined. This data identifies the saddle models that promise the greatest comfort.
