Magura eSTOP - 3 Parts - One Perfect System

The eSTOP system consists of 3 components: the eSTOP brake models, optimized brake discs and the new SPORT brake pads. All components are perfectly matched to each other and thus offer maximum performance for the higher requirements of electric bicycles.

MDR-C and MDR-P brake discs

Optimized for use on electric bikes, MAGURA presents two new brake discs with increased performance and stability while reducing vibration.

The new MDR-C brake disc is the affordable all-rounder in the MAGURA electric bike optimized portfolio - whether on the city, trail or bicycle. An additional stiffening element above the 6-hole mount reduces vibration during braking and thus noise. It also has better heat resistance and stability.

With the MDR-P, MAGURA is presenting a brake disc for performance-oriented riders and tough applications - from downhill and electric bikes to heavy cargo bikes. The two-piece rotor saves weight compared to the MDR-C and is also available in a 220 mm diameter for the first time. The particularity of the two-piece rotor is the patented interlocking of the outer and inner ring (Dovetail Interlink Technology). The interlocking enables additional support on the inner ring in the event of thermal expansion of the outer ring. In contrast to floating discs, the torque is transmitted over the entire surface instead of just via the rivets. The result is increased stiffness of the brake disc and particularly direct heat dissipation under continuous load. Thanks to the new technology, the MDR-P is the strongest brake disc in the MAGURA portfolio and still offers low weight and reduced vibration, perfect for mtb gravity use.

With the same hand force, the 220mm brake disc generates round 10% more braking force than a 203mm diameter model and even 20% more than a 180mm model. In addition, the higher mass reduces the risk of brake fading and reduces pad wear by 15%. The brake disc reaches the critical temperatures for the pad much later.

SPORT brake pads

The new organic SPORT pads are suitable for everyday and sporty riding and especially for use on electric bicycles. In terms of braking performance and durability, they are positioned between the MAGURA COMFORT and PERFORMANCE pads. The new pad compound is optimally adapted to the requirements of electric bikes and the eSTOP brake models. Thanks to a shorter brake application time, the new SPORT pads are also ready for use particularly quickly.

Technologies

Carbotecture®:

A mixture of high-tech polymers and carbon or glass fibers is transformed into a plastic granulate in several complex processes. During the process from this granulate to the finished component, the carbon fibers are optimally aligned to the load requirements. With this Carboflow process, any desired shape can be created from the granulate by injection molding. Compared to the classic lightweight material aluminum, Carbotecture® offers significant advantages: With the identical tensile and breaking strength of aluminum, Carbotecture® is 50% lighter, so it weighs only half as much.

Weight Ratio Performance:

Magura brakes are characterized by high thermal stability, which is achieved through optimum weight distribution. Optimum use of material where it is needed.

magnetiXchange:

Quick and easy to change, these are the magnetiXchange brake pads. Magnetic pistons guarantee a perfect fit of the brake pads in the caliper and very easy pad changes.

The brake is supplied ready filled and bled. Please note the maximum permissible brake disc diameter of your frame / fork!

The brake can be used universally for front and rear.

Note: The disc brake set is supplied without adapter and without brake disc, these parts are available as an option.
