HighRoad 3.0 – The Ultimate Road Bike Tire
Since introducing the HighRoad, Maxxis has pursued the goal of offering the ultimate road bike. Now, the third generation is set to exceed even this benchmark: lighter, faster, and also more puncture-resistant. This is achieved by the combination of a lightweight "turn-up" carcass, HYPR compound and K2 puncture protection. The result is a reliable yet competitive tire for all road surfaces.
Tubeless Ready version (TR) with carbon bead core.
Features of the Maxxis HighRoad folding tire (gen. 3)
- lightweight "turn-up" carcass
- HYPR full silica rubber compound
- K2 puncture protection
- Tubeless Ready
- bead made of carbon
HYPR Compound | This full silica compound is Maxxis' most powerful rubber mixture for road bike tires. Compared to previous technologies, the HYPR compound is characterized by noticeably lower rolling resistance and significantly more grip on wet roads. And best of all: these optimizations are not at the expense of the extremely long service life.
K2 Protection | This exclusive fabric from Maxxis offers even more puncture protection than conventional Kevlar fibers or models with Vectran. At the same time, the construction is not only light and supple, but also contributes to a convincing handling and maximum performance.
Tubeless Ready (TR) | Tubeless tires have many advantages. Riding with less air pressure improves traction and rolling resistance is also lower than with inner tubes. In addition, the risk of punctures is significantly reduced by using a sealant instead of an inner tube, as small holes are immediately sealed again.
Carbon Bead | Carbon is just as flexible as aramid, but significantly more resilient. It is used to hold high-pressure tires that are ridden without an inner tube securely on the rim.
Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
