Aspen ST – (Even More) Ready To Race
The lightweight Aspen folding tire from Maxxis has not only won numerous World Cup victories, it can even boast a triumph at the Olympic Games. Compared to the renowned base model, the Short Track version (ST) goes one step further in terms of speed and reduced rolling resistance. The block-shaped lugs in the center of the Cross Country tire give way to a field with a diamond-shaped honeycomb structure to enable even faster rolling performance without any significant loss of grip. What remains is the large size, which continues to guarantee excellent rolling characteristics, and the aggressive, paired side lugs, which provide the necessary cornering grip.
Features of the Maxxis Aspen ST folding tire
- MaxxSpeed rubber compound (Single Compound)
- EXO sidewall protection
- Tubeless Ready (TR)
- bead core made of aramid
MaxxSpeed | The successor to the legendary 3C MaxxSpeed triple rubber compound is a high silica single compound that is ideal for XC racing. A 25 % reduction in rolling resistance and more grip, even in wet conditions, enable tires equipped with MaxxSpeed technology to achieve higher speeds and correspondingly faster lap times.
EXO Protection | This extremely cut- and abrasion-resistant material protects the sidewall of various MTB and Gravel models. It is very densely woven, but nevertheless extremely light and flexible to ensure that the tires continue to perform well and convincingly.
Tubeless Ready (TR) | Tires without tube have many advantages. Riding with less air pressure improves traction and rolling resistance is also lower than with inner tubes. In addition, the risk of punctures is significantly reduced by using a sealant instead of an inner tube, as small holes are immediately sealed again.
Aramid Bead | Bead cores made from aramid fibers are just as safe as those made from metal wire, but weigh around 50 grams less. The material also allows the tire to be folded, making transport easier.
Note: Tubeless Ready tires require tubeless compatible rims/wheels, tubeless valves, tubeless rim tape and sealing fluid for tubeless mounting. Sealant fluid is not required for tubeless UST tires, but is recommended for increased puncture protection. Installation should only be carried out by qualified personnel.
